Interested in commissioning a handmade throw or afghan?   Here's what you need to consider!

  1. What color palette?   Earthy, bright primary, soft pastels,  specific colors, etc.?   Any no-nos for colors?

  2. What style?   Granny Squares?   Scrapghan?   Traditional (e.g. classic granny square), contemporary, child-oriented, funky, etc?

  3. What overall size?    Throw (for a newborn or small child, or typically to cover an adult's legs and lower body), or Afghan (to fully cover an adult, or to cover a bed, and if so, what size bed)?

  4. If you like some form of a square, what size?   Squares can range from a few inches to 12" or more!   Size queens welcome, and I love their boyfriends!

  5. What kind of yarn?   I typically work with high-quality chunky acrylic yarn.  But there's also wool, cotton, and blends (like acrylic/wool) which often cost considerably more.

    1. For what will it be used?

    2. Does the item need to be machine washable?

    3. Will the item be a gift?
